Car Essentials for Every Occasion

When it comes to cars there's always things that you need for any situation that may occur. You may need something for the weather or even for your own personal needs. So here's a list of things I recommend you should have in your car at all times.

The first thing you should have in your car is an Emergency Kit.

Emergency kits are great to have when you accidentally get the occasional paper cut or if your car won't start up for some odd reason. In your emergency kit you should have a:

  • First Aid Kit

  • Jumper cables

  • A Gas bottle full of gas

  • Paper maps

  • Flashlight

  • Tool kit with hammer, wrench etc

  • Utility knife

  • Spare tire

  • Car jack

The second thing you should have in your car is a Weather Kit. Varying on the weather you can always switch up the kit so for example in Winter it gets pretty cold outside and the weather gets very harsh due to the fact of lots of snow fall, icy roads and snow storms so in your  Winter kit you should always have:

  • An Ice scraper

  • Snow brush

  • Road salt

  • Winter boots

  • Shovel

  • Windshield washer fluid

  • Mylar blanket or regular blanket

  • Warm clothes like gloves, a jacket or sweatshirt etc.

For Summer it gets really hot out and since the temperature gets really high and humid out you should have the items listed below to keep your car and yourself cool and just incase you get a flat tire during a road trip:

  • Tire Pressure Gauge

  • Sunscreen

  • Extra Water bottles

  • Car heat shield

And for Fall there's lots of rain and thunderstorms so it's always best to have these items listed below in your car just in case you ever get caught up in the rain:

  • Raincoats/Jackets

  • Tissues

  • Wet wipes

  • Rain boots

  • Umbrella

This final kit is for Everyday Commuting and for the New Young Drivers. In your car you should always have:

  • Cell phone dock

  • GPS ( just in case your car doesn't have one)

  • Extra phone charger

  • Snacks ( chips, granola/chocolate bars,etc.)

  • A travel size bag filled with hygiene products (toothbrush,detergent stick,hair brush,chapstick,etc)

  • Extra pair of clothes

  • Sunglasses

  • Kleenex Tissues

  • Gum

  • Advil (just in case you or a passenger feels a little sick)

  • Extra money

With the kits given you'll be prepared for any situation in life and on the road. By the way many of the items listed above can be purchased in ready-made kits or you can make them yourself for low prices at Walmart or Canadian Tire.
