Top 5 Performance and City Commute Cars
Performance Top 5
My top 5 performance brands are Porsche, Ferrari, Honda, Lotus and Toyota.
The brand with the best fuel efficiency would be Honda or Toyota and the brand with the best handling would be Porsche. Porsche has well balanced power along with amazing handling. It is very driver friendly but it is moderately expensive for most.
The Ferrari is a beast with power and handling but is also expensive in every way.
Honda is a brand with great handling at the price tag and it is not expensive to fix. It may lack some luxury but for the price can’t complain. Honda is a great car for all levels of drivers.
Lotus are a raw driving experience but it is hard to get your hands on the older ones. Otherwise it is a great car for its purpose on the track.
Toyota made it back into my heart with the latest addition of the a90 supra. Toyotas are great cars for great prices with lots of power and handling capabilities. Toyotas have too many electronics which impede on the total driver experience of the car.
The car that I drive is a Honda. I started with a 1996 Honda civic hatchback and now I am driving a 2008 Honda s2000. It was the best car back in the day for what I paid for and I get to modify anything I want to learn and improve. It is a great platform with a lot of capability. After switching to the Honda s2000 you really realize how great of a car it really is, amazing handling and very responsive to the driver's input.
City Commute Top 5
My top city commute cars are Toyota/Lexus, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Tesla and Subaru.
The Toyota/Lexus is reliable, comfortable and fuel efficient but it seems to lack a bit of pep in the gas pedal. This makes it seem slower than most brands.
Mercedes is a comfortable, luxurious car with good performance and handling. It could be quite expensive because of the constant repairs. These repairs are due to over engineering and trying to innovate new technology for comfort and performance.
Audi has amazing performance and handling the quattro is a huge bonus for winter driving especially in Canada. Although Audis have an amazing performance they are expensive to repair.
Tesla has great speed and is fully electric but it's a computer on wheels. Computers get outdated too fast as it is. This will cause many issues once it gets older.
The Subaru is an amazing 4 wheel drive full time and cost effective to keep. Subarus are not very luxurious which could be a reason why not a lot of people want it. It is also not the most fuel efficient vehicle.
The most fuel efficient city commute brands are Toyota and Lexus.
The best vehicle for all seasons would be Audi and Subaru. For all the new young drivers out there looking for a car the Toyota and Lexus would be great starter cars. From driver forgiveness and maintenance it’s the best for new drivers.
